C.S. Lewis Retreat Sing-Along

Come Away From Rush and Hurry

Text: Marva Dawn; Music: Nettleton

Come away from rush and hurry

to the stillness of God's peace;

From our vain ambition's worry,

come to Christ to find release.

Come away from noise and clamor,

life's demands and frenzied pace;

Come to join the people gathered

here to seek and find God's face.

In the pastures of God's goodness

we lie down to rest our soul.

From the waters of God's mercy

we drink deeply, are made whole.

At the table of God's presence

all the saints are richly fed.

With the oil of God's anointing

into service we are led.

Come, then, children, with your burdens

life's confusions, fears and pain.

Leave them at the cross of Jesus;

take instead his kingdom's reign.

Bring your thirsts, for he will quench them

he alone will satisfy.

All our longings find attainment

when to self we gladly die.

We Remember You (Anamnesis)

Words and Music: Josh Bales and Greg Piken

Lord, we gather as your people To remember you

In your word and at your table To remember you

Though the world forgets your glory You remind us what is true

As we pray and sing your story We remember you

(Chorus)

We remember

We remember You

As you told us to

We remember you

In the wonder of creation

We remember you

In our failure and temptation

We remember you

In our stories of redemption

How you’re making all things new

As we long for restoration

We remember you

In our thoughts and words and deeds

We remember you

How we treat the least of these

We remember you

Let us not become disheartened

For our burdens are but few

And one day they’ll be forgotten

But we'll remember you
