I. GENERAL INFORMATION & COST
HELLO!
Thanks for inviting Josh. If you are inviting Josh for the first time, it might help you to know the kind of events he typically plays. Here's what he is frequently asked to contribute. By the way, it's okay if your event is unique!
Most frequently, Josh is invited to:
Lead Worship. For a church, ministry, conference, organization, or gathering of any kind! Josh leads with his unique style of corporate worship, using both guitar and piano, that is both contemporary and liturgical. He combines hymnody with modern worship and ancient corporate prayers or other liturgical resources. He moves back and forth between the guitar and piano/keyboard during most sessions. This format embodies Josh's own church background as a Baptist turned Presbyterian turned Anglican priest and has proved accessible to a wide range of Christians from all denominations—men and women, young and old, traditional and contemporary, charismatic and contemplative. Josh also finds ways to include his original singer-songwriter material during events like this.
Traditional Concert. Another kind of invitation Josh receives is for a traditional concert.
Guest Musician. A third kind of invitation is as a guest musician who contributes individual musical performances and/or corporate worship times that are sprinkled throughout an event, usually between sessions when multiple speakers are involved. (For example, at the National Prayer Breakfast, Josh and another songwriter took their guitars in and out of hotel rooms to share songs between prayer sessions.) The sky is the limit.
Speaker. Finally, Josh is also invited to speak on topics that correspond to his work as a Songwriter, Therapist, or Priest, like a worship, theology, soul care, therapy/counseling, liturgy, the Church, Anglicanism, Christianity and creativity, men's issues, etc. Josh normally includes his music as part of his speaking presentation.

OTHER FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
-
A: Yes, Josh will book all of his travel, looking for the most reasonably priced means, and send you the receipts.
-
A: Unfortunately, no. While fun, coordinating rehearsals, settling rates, and handling the administrative scope for additional musicians is outside of our capacity. Josh will arrive prepared to deliver a complete musical experience as a solo artist (guitar/piano/vocals).
-
A: The primary requirement is a professional sound system appropriate for the venue size and a designated Sound Technician. A detailed Technical Rider (inputs, stage plot) is included below in the final contract PDF for your review.
-
A: Josh travels with his own guitars. If the gig is within driving distance, Josh will also bring his own keyboard. Otherwise you will need to provide a quality acoustic or digital piano (e.g., Yamaha, Roland, or equivalent). All other specific equipment requests are listed clearly in the Technical Rider below.
-
A: No. Josh specializes in designing a cohesive and integrated worship experience. While we welcome themes, scripture preferences, and song suggestions, we ask for the freedom to curate the final setlist to ensure theological depth and flow.
-
A: Josh primarily performs original music and thoughtfully-curated hymns or corporate worship songs that align with his theological approach. We are happy to discuss specific songs, but we cannot guarantee performing material outside of his repertoire.
-
A: Yes. Josh’s style is intentionally designed to be accessible to a wide range of Christians—traditional and contemporary, young and old, across all denominations—by blending ancient liturgical resources with modern musicality.
-
A: We generally book 3–9 months in advance. Our calendar fills quickly, especially during spring and fall. Submitting the Official Inquiry Form is the best way to secure your date.
-
A: Once we confirm the date and budget, we aim to send the final contract within 5 business days. We ask that the signed contract and deposit be returned within two weeks to hold the date.
